Join Diamyd Medicals Manufacturing Team in Umeå as a Logistics and Supply Chain Coordinator

Diamyd Medical is seeking a Logistics and Supply Chain Coordinator to their state-of-the-art Biologics Manufacturing facility in Umeå. Diamyd Medical develops precision medicine therapies for Type 1 Diabetes. Diamyd^® is an antigen-specific immunotherapy for the preservation of endogenous insulin production. DIAGNODE-3, a confirmatory Phase III trial is actively recruiting patients with recent-onset Type 1 Diabetes in eight European countries and in the US. A biomanufacturing facility is being set up in Umeå for the manufacture of recombinant GAD65, the active ingredient in the antigen-specific immunotherapy Diamyd^®.


Key responsibilities:

• Develop and implement logistics systems to optimize supply chain and inventory management, ensuring the seamless flow of raw materials and finished products.

• Manage procurement from approved suppliers, including supplier evaluations, risk assessments, and contract negotiations.

• Identify and onboard suitable suppliers based on specifications and risk assessments.

• Ensure regulatory compliance by aligning all logistics and manufacturing activities with GMP, GLP, and other relevant industry regulations.

• Drive process improvements by identifying bottlenecks, enhancing operational efficiency, and implementing best practices to improve product quality and supply chain reliability.

• Coordinate cross-functional collaboration between procurement, manufacturing, quality assurance, and external suppliers to optimize supply chain performance.

• Maintain documentation and reports related to logistics, testing, and manufacturing activities for management, auditors, and regulatory authorities.

• Oversee risk management strategies to mitigate supply chain disruptions and ensure business continuity.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of experience in logistics, manufacturing, or supply chain roles, preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. GMP experience is highly valued, but familiarity with other regulatory frameworks, such as ISO standards, is also a strong plus.

• Proficiency in logistics software, EQMS systems, and data analysis tools for supply chain optimization.

• Strong understanding of GMP, GDP, and quality assurance protocols.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.

• A flexible and adaptable approach to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

• Leadership capabilities with the ability to drive change and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required. The ability to communicate clearly in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, is also required.
