On behalf BioArctic we are seeking an entrepreneurial, talented, and results-oriented Business Development Director to join the team and drive the company’s mission forward.
As Business Development Director you will play a pivotal role in expanding BioArctic's presence within the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors. You will spearhead the development of strategic partnerships, paving the way for the commercialization of BioArctic’s innovations.
BioArctis is a Swedish research-based biopharma company that focuses on pioneering treatments to delay or halt the progression of neurodegenerative diseases. Their groundbreaking invention, Leqembi® (lecanemab), stands as the world's first drug proven to slow down disease progression and reduce cognitive impairment in early-stage Alzheimer's disease. Beyond Leqembi, the company’s diverse research portfolio includes antibodies targeting Parkinson's disease, ALS, and additional initiatives against Alzheimer's disease. Leveraging their proprietary BrainTransporter™ technology, they are poised to revolutionize treatment efficacy by actively transporting antibodies across the blood-brain barrier.
Key Responsibilites
- Lead the establishment of the Business Development function at BioArctic, overseeing all related activities.
- Cultivate existing partnerships while identifying and attracting new collaborators.
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership to attract, evaluate and negotiate potential partnerships, collaborations, and licensing opportunities.
- Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks within relevant therapeutic areas.
- Support negotiations and collaborate with cross-functional teams to structure and execute licensing agreements and collaborations.
- Represent BioArctic at industry events to enhance visibility and foster strategic relationships.
Experience and Qualifications
- MSc in a relevant field.
- Proven experience in business development within pharmaceutical or biotech industries, preferably with a track record of closing licensing deals.
- Strong understanding of drug development processes, regulatory landscapes, and commercial value.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Global mindset with willingness to travel as required.
